Union Veterans are giving Majewski a clear choice: provide the documents or suspend the campaign.

Last week we welcomed home an American patriot who was unjustly deported six years ago.

When a union is in a fight, UVC knows how important it is to show up. That’s why we were proud to stand with unionized staffers of the Pittsburgh Post Gazette last Friday. For nearly a decade and a half, these workers have tirelessly covered the news--without enjoying a salary raise. That means that in real terms, these reporters are being paid less today than they were in 2006, an outrage given the current economic crisis.

Union Veterans Council Condemns Racism in Georgia Senate District 23 Race

Racist attacks against veteran and candidate Ceretta Smith are unacceptable

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Union Veterans Council, AFL-CIO (UVC), the labor movement’s organization for union veterans, decries the racist, violent and vulgar attack against Georgia Senate District 23 candidate and Army veteran Ceretta Smith.

UVC will target veteran voters in key swing states and support Bi-Partisan Congressional champions

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Union Veterans Council, AFL-CIO is proud to announce the launch of its political program to speak to union and veteran voters in key swing states and support Congressional champions of veterans issues in their election and reelection campaigns.

Yesterday, the Union Veterans Council sent the following letter to House and Senate leadership, copying all Senate and Member offices. The Trump administration has a rich history of saying one thing and doing another and America's veterans rely on the Postal Service for a variety of needs, including the ability to vote. Congress must act quickly to hold them accountable.

Once again, veterans have been left out of the conversation and stand to pay the consequences.  President Trump’s rash decision to defund the United States Postal System to fit a political agenda is disgraceful.  Veterans count on the USPS for a multitude of reasons and to sabotage it is an infringement of their rights in many ways.

STATEMENT: Union Veterans Council on George Floyd and National Protests

The Union Veterans Council, AFL-CIO mourns the tragic and unnecessary death of George Floyd. As an organization that represents those who served our country, we are heartbroken that George Floyd died at the hands of the very police that took an oath to protect him. George Floyd shouldn’t be a symbol, but he is. His death reflects a grim reality that racism and injustice exist in American institutions, from schools to workplaces to businesses to the sidewalk where he walked.
