Statement from Will Attig, Executive Director of the Union Veterans Council, AFL-CIO on President Trump canceling pay raises for civilian federal workers.

The holiday season is upon us and we are once again reaching out to our members with a call to action. The Union Veterans Council is excited to announce that we’re piloting a Holiday Community Outreach Program. Many of our nation’s veterans are living in extended care, state-run, VA retirement homes and facilities, many of them in your communities(Click HERE to find a location in your community). Unfortunately, these veterans are often overlooked during the holiday’s.

Today the Union Veterans Council (UVC), AFL-CIO, announced the launch of UVC’s Labor 2018 support program. There has never been a more vital time for working class veterans and families to make our voices heard in the halls of power.

“The Union Veterans Council has drawn a line in the sand for working class veterans and our families,” said Will Attig, Executive Director of the UVC. “We are fighting to ensure that our veterans have a say in our own economic freedom and future.”

First Union Veterans Chapter in Pennsylvania will advocate for local veterans.

The National Union Veterans Council (UVC), AFL-CIO today announced the formation of the first local chapter of the UVC in Pennsylvania at the Allegheny Central Labor Council. This local Union Veterans Chapter will act as a support organization for union veterans in its service area.

The Union Veterans Council opposes a bill that would weaken financial protections for veterans and servicemembers and their right to defend themselves in the court of law.
