TSA Officers’ Union Says Agency Has Answered their Call for Increased Protective Equipment

Military and veterans groups rally in support of legislation to authorize construction of a memorial on the National Mall

Washington, DC - Alarmed by a Trump administration proposal to make disabled Americans prove they remain disabled and eligible for continued disability benefits every six months, more than 10,300 veterans and retirees have vehemently told the Social Security Administration (SSA) they oppose the plan. The Alliance for Retired Americans and the Union Veterans Council of the AFL-CIO have joined forces to try to block this change because it will cut benefits to thousands of people who need them.

Veteran’s Day is the U.S. Holiday dedicated to giving thanks to those who have served in our nation’s military. Instead of taking a day off with their families, more than 40 volunteers took to the streets of Washington, DC to bring relief and resources to the District’s homeless veterans.

(Washington D.C) The Union Veterans Council, AFL-CIO (UVC) and the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) are leading over 40 unions and organizations in calling out the current Administration for taking more than 3.6 billion dollars of congressionally appropriated tax dollars from vital military construction projects, to build a small part of a project on the southern board.

Americans across the nation are memorializing the 18th anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks. Nearly 3,000 people were killed that day and thousands more injured. That fateful day also marks the day America entered the longest conflict the country has seen to date. Today, The Global War On Terror is still ongoing.
